Integrating Earth & Peace Perspectives into Education

EPE associates are available to consult on how to integrate Earth and peace perspectives into educational curricula and programs in formal (e.g. classrooms) and informal (e.g. churches, community organizations) settings, including electronic distance learning, & public access TV. This educational work is based upon the Malkemus Award winning article on the contextual sustainability framework for educating for a culture of social and ecological peace.

Process & Resources

Learning activities are interactive – encouraging exchange among participants and with the facilitator(s) and inductive - grounded in the experience of workshop participants. They also aim to facilitate critical reflection. Case studies, narratives, simulations, questionnaires, diary writing and other such materials and tasks are used to illustrate concepts and skills.

We provide background reading lists, bibliographies for further study, and lists of relevant organizations and websites for networking.
